They want to know what you actually did and what you learned in various experiences. You'll experience living in a third world country through hands-on work. You’ll grow and learn many things. You’ll learn to appreciate your home… whatever part of the world it may be in. And you may decide that working with children is your career goal. You'll meet people with varied interests & backgrounds from many parts of the world. Volunteering brings together a variety of people from all walks of life and countries. The kids and staff of the home benefit from your volunteer efforts and fellow volunteers may just show you a new way of doing something. You may bond with some of the other volunteers and make lifelong friends.
Get Academic Credit
Schools may offer academic credit for volunteer work experiences. Check with your school for information.

Colleges pay attention to your life inside and outside the classroom.
