A field trip with the boys
Thinking of a favorite memory with the boys is hard; since I loved every single day we spent with them. If I had to pick one that's really stuck with me, it would be the night when we went to the MOSCOW CIRCUS!
After an early dinner, thanks to the fabulous Alba, we left the Hogar around 5:30 and piled about 25 kids into the Hogar's van. It took about an hour to get there, and being so tightly packed in there it starting getting pretty toasty, but the kids didn't mind. They were just having a good time, laughing, playing games, yelling "TAXI" whenever one drove by, and as usual, every kid had a huge smile on their face. We got to the circus a bit early, so we walked around, looked at the animals, played with the kids, and when it was time we lined up to head inside.
The kids that were chosen to go to the circus were the ones who had been the best-behaved, so it was great to see how happy they were to be there. I was sitting with the Peques, which was really fun, they'd look up at me and grin whenever something cool happened. Even though the show was about 2 1/2 hours, the kids never got bored or grumpy. Although on the car ride back home, after some chips and juice, the kids were so exhausted (and we were too) that everyone fell asleep. It was so much fun, everyone laying on each other, trying to get comfortable, crammed in this tiny car, and trying to keep the kids cool since all of them were dripping with sweat as they slept.
Having the opportunity to go to Hogar Miguel Magone and meeting those amazing kids is something I will never take for granted, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you so much for making it possible!!
Take care.
