It’s been a little bit crazy around here. On Wednesday, a large tree fell across the road, just up the street from the hogar. The tree destroyed the power lines. That was around 11 am on Wednesday morning. I took about 15 kids up the hill and we watched the men use machetes and then axes to hack at the huge pine tree. It took hours to get one side of the road cleared. The next day, they finally found a chain saw and cleared the other side of the road.
And guess what? We just got our power back tonight around 8 pm….. 3 days without power. And then about 5 minutes after the power finally came on, we had an earthquake. The kids were scared. The power stayed out for about 45 minutes. And now it’s ok again. Let’s hope it stays that way.
It’s cold and windy and of course we don’t have heat. Cold showers are not a lot of fun when it’s 50 degrees outside.
It has been a little bit crazy around here. But I wanted to say Hi and let you know that we’re busy and being productive.
